ABOUT
‘Cane Records, one of the first student-run record labels, was created in the fall of 1993 by a small group of ambitious graduate and undergraduate students in the Music Business and Entertainment Industries program at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. This organization gives students hands on experience in all facets of running an independent record label. ‘Cane Records has released 25 albums in the 20 years since it was founded and has been nominated by the Independent Music Awards for ‘Best Compilation’ for their 2012 release, Breaking the Surface, Vol. 2. In 2016, For the Record won the Independent Music Award for 'Best Compilation.' The genres found in each release range from rock to classical, latin funk, holiday music, R&B, and more. ‘Cane Records continues to be one of the leading student-run record labels in the country.
MEET THE TEAM
President Adyna Silverberg is the President of ’Cane Records and a senior at the University of Miami, majoring in Music Industry with a minor in Communications. Beyond her work with ’Cane Records, she is entering her second year as the GRAMMY U Florida Chapter Representative, manages emerging artists, and performs with one of the university’s a cappella group, Phoenyx.
Vice President of Administration Gabriel is a senior at the University of Miami majoring in Accounting with a minor in Music Industry. With an interest in live production logistics and creative storytelling, I'm passionate about creating the best environment to allow artistry to come to life and excited to support Cane Records and its artists.
Sr. Director of A&R Luna is a second-year student at Frost studying Music Industry with a bass guitar principal. As Vice President of A&R, she is excited to help in the development of the artists on the 'Cane Records roster and collaborate to grow their brands!!
Vice President of Marketing Lexi is a senior majoring in Music Industry with a minor in Public Relations. She has a passion for sharing artists visions and creating a space in which creativity is invited. She is excited to work closely with her peers and share the visions of the ‘Cane Records artists.
Marketing Analyst Admin Audrey is a junior at the University of Miami studying Business Analytics and Music Industry. She combines a love of music with data-driven strategy to help Cane Records artists reach audiences everywhere!
A&R Admin Sofia DiMarco is a junior studying Music Industry and Jazz Piano Performance. She is so excited to work behind the scenes to share the amazing music created for and by students here at Frost. As well as being an avid performer, she is passionate about pursuing a career on the business side of the Music Industry.
Marketing Director Sydney is a senior with a dual major in Business Technology and Marketing and a minor in Music Industry. She is excited to push her creative boundaries and contribute to the success of this label by providing unique perspectives backed by data and analytics. Sydney additionally is an R&B Singer/Songwriter and aims to blend her musical talent with her business acumen.
Marketing Director Martina is a junior studying Finance with minors in Music Industry and Management. Her passions are concerts and reading. She is excited to get to work with such amazing artists and connect with them along this journey, thinking about having even a small impact in an artist's career fills my heart with happiness.
Marketing Director Jules Ciecko is a graduate student studying Music Industry. She is passionate about live music, creative marketing, and helping artists bring their visions to life. She's excited to work closely with her peers and support Frost students as they shape their creative journeys.
Marketing Manager My name is Jacob Chandler, a sophomore from San Diego majoring in Music Industry, and I'm a Marketing Manager this year. I love listening to and creating music, volunteering, and working out.
A&R Director My name is Coco Brown, I am a senior majoring in Music Industry with a classical violin principle. I'm excited to be entering my second year as an A&R manager at 'Cane Records; I'm passionate about all things music, art, and entertainment.
A&R Director Maddy Grant is a bassist, songwriter, and music industry student at the University of Miami. She serves as a member of the ’Cane Records team, helping organize events like the Spring Showcase and supporting campus artists through marketing, logistics, and artist coordination. Maddy is also the bassist and social media manager for Skyrise, a Miami-based female-led heavy metal band.
A&R Coordinator Penelope Acevedo is a second-year Music Industry major with a minor in Political Science. She is actively involved with WVUM 90.5 FM and has experience through internships at local record companies, she brings a practical perspective to the music industry. Penelope is passionate about supporting artists while branching connections between musicians and audiences.
A&R Manager She is a Junior (Class of 2027) at the University of Miami, and is a Media, Scoring, and Production Major with a Minor in Music Industry. She has a passion for discovering musical talent, building artist relationships, and helping creative visions come to life!
A&R Manager Mia Farnesi is a junior majoring in Vocal Performance and Music Industry at the University of Miami. Passionate about music and the industry behind it, she is excited to join Cane Records this year as an A&R Manager. She looks forward to working with the team, supporting artists, and helping bring new projects to life.
