Julia Barrist is a songwriter originally from Ambler, Pennsylvania. She writes introspectively using intimate lyrics and melodies - attributing these stylistic elements to her earliest musical influences, such as Ryan Tedder and Taylor Swift. In 2020, Julia won the Jamie Bell Songwriting Competition, leading her to pursue music on a larger scale. She has continued to develop her artistry using social media, gaining particular success on TikTok.

Julia is a member of the award-winning a cappella group, BisCaydence, with whom she won the Outstanding Soloist award at the ICCA South Quarterfinal in 2023. In 2024, the group was one of 10 from around the world to advance to Finals in New York City. In New York, Julia had the opportunity to sing "bury a friend" by Billie Eilish on Broadway. The same year, she was one of the recipients of the Outstanding Arrangement award for her work on "bury a friend."

Her debut single "Gaslight" was released in January of 2023. Julia is currently working on a series of country songs that will be released in 2024 and 2025.
